WTF

  • Sep. 20th, 2009 at 9:52 PM

Let's just say I'm really confused. (no it's not the blond turned gray) I don't understand how I can get a DQ on a pig for being entered in the wrong Variety. He is not a TSW.(I really don't think so anyway). At State I was told by the judge he was a rare mosaic make a good breeder. Now I was told he was a nice TSW. He was sold to me as a broken choc/red/white. and that is what he looks like to me. Makes my head hurt.lol
Also my kids Teddy Satins was DQed for not being Satins. This can be so so ya you know. Enough said.
Had a good day but for the mugginess.  Raffle went well cleared $350 for the 4-H club not bad.

New Animals

  • Jul. 17th, 2009 at 8:28 PM

Well as most of you know I have got Brittany Bellows dilute Abbys. What a nice bunch of animals. We have had some problems with the move. But no losses in 24 hours. We lost 1 older boar, 4 very heavy sows, 1 baby and one litter. Not bad when you think about how many animals we moved. Well over 60 I'm thinking. No we haven't counted. Now you must remember this was the whole herd all animals (except a few very special piggies). Young and Old. So I don't think this was a bad move as far as loses goes. It was really warm that day. A 12 hour drive. Plus the stops we made to check on animals. Anyway I love them already.

n We had 2 litters of Teddy's born here in the last couple days. Monday when we where on the way home a Teddy had her babies. She had 3 but one die a day later. These 2 are TSW boars. the next litter was born late last night or early this morning one nice size B/C choc/red/white sow. Now if you wanta here the best part. The TSW mom had the B/C and B/C red/white mom had all TSW's. lol go figure.

You can see who is who in this.

Anyway they are all nice. Have to wait and see how they grow.

And I'm still tried so that all for now.

Bye-Bye Baby Bye-Bye

  • Jul. 9th, 2009 at 10:29 PM

Let see. Had a long day, as always.
We sold the last of the Teddy babies we had for sale. All we have left for Teddy babies is the 4 Suzan want to watch grow for awhile to see how they do. We do have a few in breeding now. The Satin one that miscarried awhile back is preggo. She should have her babs in the next 3 weeks or so.
I feel really good about where 2 of our Abby's went today. These 2 girls will be soooo spoiled it's not funny. I'm talking diamond collar type spoiled. The lady was already talking about a birthday party for these girls. And they are only about 5 weeks old. So yea I feel good about this piggie home.
Been thinking about what we are going to enter in the State Fair this year. Yes I think this will be my first show with something entered in my name. lol
I have more but it'll have to wait as my flat head needs rest.   And I must say sorry about me spelling errors, I not sure why but anyway there it is. ROFLMFAO
Had a good day. Even with that because that was just too funny. Some will know what that means other wont.

Need to make post

  • Jul. 2nd, 2009 at 11:38 PM

Hi all.

I really should post all the happening around here. But I have been out of it since the Fair. Need to play catch up in a couple different things.Got Pedigrees sent out. Hope they got them as they didn't let me know. But I guess if they didn't I'll be hearing about it. Have some I need to add to out program. Still trying to get all what I want back on the new hard drive. Can't get into my bookmarks. Dumass me cant remember the password. And my dumass son did something to it on my netbook so I cant change it. So I got that to figure it out yet. Got the sitebuilder on the new drive so I need to work on that to.
Suzan and I spent a day cleaning the piggie room. Man can they kick the shavings around. Or maybe it seemed worse because we didn't do much but feed and water them for a whole week. Poor babies. Still have some thing we want to do with them but that is mostly ongoing. We are turning our empty dog run into a piggie run. Got grass and other thing they like planted on the inside, got corn planted on the outside for shade. And green beans plant on the outside to. We just need to put some coloplastic along the bottom to make sure they cant get out. I think it will make a nice place for some moms and babies. It about 12x20. We need to make some house areas for them yet but if the weathers not to hot or cold they should be able to enjoy the run day and night. It is totally enclosed with a top and all.
Suzan did super in Master showmanship Large and Small. At least I think she did. This is the first time she has made it to Masters. In Small Animals she got 3rd place. In Large Animals she place 7th which she wasn't real pleased with but the only animal she has ever shown in large is goats. But she did good. Her foot still hurts. Think she broke her little toe. She got stomped on by a steer. The thing wouldn't get off her foot. But I'm really proud of the job she has done in many thing this year. This girl is my youngest of five, and has had to over come alot of rotten things in her life and she is doing a great job of it. I just wish the important men in her life could have been there to see her compete in masters this year,
Yes it is a sad story. Her sperm donor dad is a fucking drunk that hasn't seen her since she grad. from 8th grade which is over 2 years ago, and the fucker was only there cause his mom and dad was there. He has not once gone to the Fair to watch her in anything she does. I've even bought the ass and his girlfriend tickets to get in. Nice dad. He lives within a 15 min. drive of us.And 5 from the fair grounds. She wont even claim him anymore and I can't say as I blame her.
The other man who was very important to her is her stepdad but he was taken from us all Aug.3,2005. These two got to be real close when I busted my hip and was laid up for almost a year. They did everything together. They did all the stuff I would have done if I wasn't laid up. Shopping cooking cleaning and taking care of me. We still miss this man so much. When asked about her Dad she usally tells people that he has past to a better place. I just very happy she learn from him what a Dad really is. And that not all men are fucking jerks. Just some of them.lol
Her full grown step-brothers have been trying to take our house away since their Dad died as he didn't have a Will. So she has had that fear of not know what is happening with our home. Hopefully that be over on the 17th of July and the Judge says we can keep our Home. I already own 1/2 of it outright. A pieces of advice to you all get a WILL. My hubby never thought his kids would act like this the greedy like fuckers. These guy are all most as old as I am. Yes there was an age difference between me and Rick my husband14 years. I know that sounds like alot by we did get together till we were older. He in his early 40s me in my late 20s. We had a soulmate relationship. Okay this is getting to deep. I think the pain killers has kicked in. We where together for a few years very close than we part to friend for a couple years for reason better left unsaid. Than we decide that wasn't working so we started to live together and yes we finally got married. And we will be buried together. It's all planned and paid for. Now I need a WILL so I can leave ever thing to Suzan as she will be the one that will take over raising my 3 year old Grandson Zackery. Another thing she has to deal with people think it's her kid when we are out together. People giving her DIRT looks. I hate that.  And even if it was her kid who the fuck are they to judge her? She would have had to be like 12 when she had him. Don't these people think. She get so embrassed when they do that to her that I make a point of telling Zackery to Get his Auntie Suzie. Then the look at me and I just give them that fuck-off look.
Dam for only going to be a short piggie post I wrote 1/2 my life story. Sorry guys. Must be the pain pills and it's getting close to that time of year that we have a hard time dealing with.
Yes I'm popping my pain pills again. That tooth that I had a root canal done on in Nov has broke in half throught the root. And the work they did back them messed my sinsuses up.Have had a sinsuse infection in there since Nov. And no I wont let them do surgery yet. Going to have this tooth pulled first see if that don't clear it up first. If that don't work I guess I'll have no other options.

Okay Time for me to get off my pit-pot. Thanks for Reading this if you made it this far.

Sorry next time will post what we got going on in the Cavy Room.
Thanks for the shoulders.

Goats

  • Jun. 23rd, 2009 at 11:26 PM

This is going to be a quick brag post. Sorry been bragging alot lately. But my youngest child has been kickin' butt in most things she has been doing this year. And I'm real proud of her.--> She did it again today. She won her first belt buckle at our county fair for Goat Showmanship.
This is her going into the ring--->

Her goat also placed 2nd in it's weight class too.
I think that is enough bragging for today. If I do to much braggin' just tell me but this girl has worked her butt off to get here. Friday she has to do Master Showmanship for both large and small animals. Which by the way she has not done most of these animals before. Let hope she does well.
Thanks Tamara I think you helped build her up this past year. Very postive roll model.

Picnic In The Park

  • Jun. 21st, 2009 at 8:37 PM

Had a great time at Picnic In The Park. That one little sow of Suzan's is just kickin butt this year. She got BOB, BOV, BIB in both shows and One Best In Show. That brings her up to 6 legs I think. She can now be Registered and Grand Championed. Yes our very first home breed raise Grand Champion. What A good day. Tamara got a RIS with one of her piggies think it was her American Thor but don't quote me.                                                                                                                                       We had some fun  too.End of the day was a Best of the Best run off.And the lovely peruvian won.(open only had one BIS as she took both show A & B).What a lovely day it was till the wind started. Not to hot or to cold. Than the wind started and tried to blow our show away. But we finished the show in the park.
Next years theme is SPACE what we can do with that.
Today was the started of round two of San Joaquin County Fair. We took all the meat market goats in. Had their vet. checks and weight in. We had good weather today too. Not to hot or cold. Tomorrow will be a long day at the fair. All the goats got to get washed and a touch up clipping and grooming. Glad all I got to do is watch.lol Hope the weather stays like today.

FAIR

  • Jun. 14th, 2009 at 6:52 PM

Day 1 Done
Day  1 was good. Suzan was really busy. She started with cavy showmanship. First time she has every done cavy showmanship. Gets to move on to Master Showmanship small animals. All her animals did well it was a very small show. But hay she and another girl was there. She got 3 BOB and 2 BOSB. She also took BIS with that super nice black roan Abby. ( this is BIS #2 for this animal, she also has a RIS). Suzan also took the RIS with a B/C Abby Satin.

Next was Breeder Goat Showmanship. Suzan did okay here to. Got 3rd place not bad. She was up against kids that have done this for many years this is her 3rd year doing breeder goats and she only does them at the fair. Good job girl. The rest of the day she was showing breeder goats think she did about 8 or 9 showings(if not more). Most of her goats placed 1st or 2nd. She did get one RIS with one of the classes. I don't remember which class it was. As you can see from this picture they are full grown goats the kids where showing. Suzan was showing with alot of boys her age. You know this girl's got some muscle to her. She has won the hay bucking contest at fair too. Beat boys in her own age group. What a day that was.lol
We got to play with the Teddy babies and the newest Abby babies too. We are getting closer to deciding on which ones we will be keeping and which ones will be for sale. I think we will have about 6 or 7 for sale. Half are sows which means the other half are boars.
Learned about a spot that is in one of the baby abby's eye. Very interesting. This is the first time I have seen this. The mom has a cataract so I was think it might be something in the genes. But thankfully I was wrong. So to say the least today was a good day all the way around.
We now get a break before the next part of fair for us. Market Goats. We live at the fair when the market goats are there. They go in on Father's Day and sell the next Sat.  Busy week at the fair.
We also have a show coming up for cavies. Sat the 20th is Picnic In The Park. This is the first one we have gone to. Think it'll be fun. Need to think if I still got any groovy cloths that I can wear. The theme for this show is groovy.lol
Still got a few other thing I need to post but now is not the time. Soon hehehehe.

Start of County Fair

  • Jun. 13th, 2009 at 1:30 PM

Well it's been awhile since I've posted anything. We have been a little busy around here, with this that and the other.
We just got back from down south(ca). Went and pick-up a abby that got sent down there by mistake last show up here. We took a few animals with us to add to a himi program down there. They where really please with them. Also got a nice TSW sow to add to our Abby's and a few other surprises I can't tell about as of yet. Cause they aren't mine to talk about. But soon I'll as I can I'll spill the beans. All in all had a nice time.
I should say had a nice time till we got home and was getting ready for bed and Zackery stuck a watch battery up his nose. We got to spend about 3 plus hours in the E.R. waiting to get it removed. It was loads of fun.
Today is a busy day too. Getting ready to take Craft entries to the Fair grounds, when Suzan gets back. She is giving about 6 big old breeder goats a bath. More fun. She still has to get all her other critters ready for tomorrow too. She'll be super busy tomorrow. She got 5 to 7 goats to show and goat showmanship. She also has about 7 cavies to show and cavy showmanship. She has to tag a few cavies in the morning before any shows starts.(not her animals) I just love fair with the hustle and bustle. We get a break from the fair for a few days. Than the real fun starts. A solid week of Fair, starts on father day and ends next sat with auction.
Time to run. Well post more soon.

Last of the Teddy Babies Are Here

  • May. 25th, 2009 at 6:29 PM

The last of the Teddy babies was delivered early today. All nicely marked TSW 2 DOAs. So sad about that as they where the very nicely marked. The lone survivor is nice too. We will more than likely be keeping him.
The final count is 14. Out of that 14 we will sell at least 7 I'm thinking now. We want one from each litter. So for the next couple of weeks we will be watching how these little ones develops.

We will be keeping this one I think. He is a doll. nicely marked to. I love the spot on his ear. But for all on our waiting list I think we will have what you want soon. But don't quote me please cause not sure of what sexes there are all together. But they are all very nice Teddys.
Now as far as the Abby's go we have a couple that will be delivering Convention Babies(hopefully) in the next couple weeks. I know that I shouldn't count my chicks before they hatch but I was counting my piggies before they pop. Oh man am I tried. Anyway's anyone on our waiting list for Teddy's will be getting an email in about 2 weeks, and it will be in the order you asked to be put there. After that it'll be first come first serve. ( I have already had a few request is why I'm saying this).
Hope all had a Great Holiday Weekend,

Babies, Babies and more Babies

  • May. 23rd, 2009 at 8:25 PM

We have had 5 litters of babies born here in the last 10 days or so. 4 of them Teddies and 1 Abby. Count to go is 1 Teddy and 3 Abby litters. Baby count is 13 Teddy's and 3 Abby. Most look to be showable. I Abby is a black with a white foot so no show there. Other 2 are looking good so far. Now the Teddies is what I'm so happy about. The first 2 litters are looking really good, nice and curly, nice belly curl too, all got good heads. The 2 litters that where delivered by the Teddy Stork last night early this morning are going to be lookers to but not quite as good as the first 2 litters.

Here's the 3 little Abby's see the white foot.

We should have some really good animals for convention this year. We are really excited about it. This will be our first Convention. I may even start showing in open. Suzan is staying in Youth for many different reason. She has some very very nice animals. I'm getting a plan of attack for myself. hehehehe.  It's still rolling around in my little bitty brain.

We'll do some more up dating when the rest of the storks show up. It'll take us atleast 1 to 2 week to figure out who will be for sale but some of the Teddies will be for sale. So it wont be much longer for those of you who have been waiting for the Teddies to get here.

This That And The Other

  • May. 12th, 2009 at 8:37 PM

Okay let's see we have had a litter of 3 TSW Abbys born about 10 days ago. We had litter of Teddies born her about a week ago. Nice looking too. 1 TSW, 1 B/C Chocolate/Red/White and 1 B/C Red/ White. All with nice curl. So that is a hopeful sign. we are still waiting on the other Teddy Sows to drop their litters. 4 to go.

Got the show report for the Stockton show. That little Abby(black roan) that got 3 leg in Monterey now has 4 legs. All as a jr. She will be our first Registered Grand Champion. She needs to get 1 leg when she get a little older.  She is taking after her Granddad. The founder of our best stock Piggly Wiggly aka Capri Sun. WooHoo. This little girl is HOT. She gona be turn the boys heads soon.lol I just wished there was a show around here before the Picnic in the Park. May have to think about going to the one in Lancaster(I think it's Lancaster need to check).

We have our County Fair coming up soon. June 14 is the day Cavy go in. It's a one day show for they. I don't think Suzan will have any rabbit to take in this year. She has some but I think they are just going to be in their forever home.

Time to do some more waiting.

Well we had a great time at the show this last weekend. The turn out was smaller than I expected but that's okay to cause I meet some people there that I had been talking to on the internet. So that was good.
This was a triple show. There was 61 animals in the Youth Shows. And Suzan had some very very good wins. Brag time.lol
Show A under Sara Buchanan this little bitty Black Roan Abby sow took Best In Show.
Show C under Tamera Whitten this same little bitty Abby took Reserve in Show.

Okay thats enough bragging about that. We did have a excellent show both in the winnings and with all the people we meet And old friends that we got to catch up with.
Our Abby Himi sow was show as an inter. this time and the results was mixed.lol One judge DQ the animal on Points not being dark enough for a Himi. Another gave the little girl a 1st & BOSV  and the third gave her a 1st place. So she did good too. This program is one track. YES.
I think that's enough Bragging for now. Hope to see alot of you in Stockton this weekend.
BTW the BIS is a granddaughter of Piggly Wiggly AKA Capri Sun.

Waiting, Waiting, I Hate Waiting

  • Apr. 21st, 2009 at 9:30 PM

Well we are waiting on a few things now. First is the West Coast Classic in Monterey Ca this weekend. We leave Fri. as soon as Suzan gets done with Earth Day at school.GRRRR . She usually doesn't have school on Fri.( she goes to a charter school.) But the school is doing some Earth Day Fair or whatever they are calling it.  I wanted to check-in to the motel at 2 which is their early check-in . But noooo have to wait some more. lol Anyway this is our first triple show so we are looking forward to it.
We have 3 confirmed preggo Teddies. 2 B/C  and 1 TSW. We have 3 others to but haven't confirmed them yet. We messed up and wasn't watching the ages on these girls as close as we should have so had to breed them all at once. 5 will be first time moms. So we are waiting on these girls. waiting waiting.
Now you all remember that picture of the Himi(Aby) mom and her new pups. Well we weight one of them today. They are 2 weeks today. Guess what she weighted. Go on guess. 10 ozs. at 2 weeks. The runt was 9.5 ozs. Suzan was looking at them last week and was going to wean them until she rechecked their birthday. They are HUGE  but we are still waiting on them so we can show them. YES showers. They are nice all round Abys.

I think I spend to much time waiting.lol I think that should be a job.

Monterey Show

  • Apr. 16th, 2009 at 10:18 PM

Well lets see. We have got the entry mail for the Monterey show. Last minute of course. We have keep the number to 8. One carrier. We are taking 2 Teddies, 2 Abby Satins and 4 Abbys. Only one sr. in the bunch. So that's the line up for that show. Now as for the Stockton Show on May 2 it's real close to home so we will be taking more. We plan to have some for sale too. Not sure what yet. But we will have some.

Trying to get rid of this sinus infection. It's not going away, 3 rounds of antibiotic. Had a CT scan and now need to see an ENT dr. Not having fun with this. I'm think the Dentist messed up when he pulled a tooth. Had this since right after that. I just want it gone. Enough whining.

We are still trying to get some pictures. I know we are always trying. But here lately Murphy has been living here. And it's time it found a new place to go. Maybe tomorrow or Sat. we can try to get this done.

My son started to convert a rabbit stacker into a piggy stacker. It'll be nice to have another one without having to buy it. He's about half way done. We are think of using this for the Himi's. Right now we have 3 breeding boars. This will give each boar a floor to his self and whatever sows we give him. And than if we want to keep the sows there it'll be easy to move the boar. Right now we have a breeder boar babysitting some little boars. He seems to like the job. (but I bet he would much rather have some sows to play with) He's been popcorning and playing with the little ones. It's so cool to see this big old boar playing with the little ones.

Short Post

  • Apr. 8th, 2009 at 9:53 PM

It's been a couple of days since I posted. Have an update on our Himi pups. The last litter is doing great. Very active pups. The 2 white pup are change nicely to himis. Both have black feet and ears now nose are a tad darker.

Now hears the thing the litter of 2 (1 white and 1 red) that was born before this one the one I call a himi isn't a himi but a REW.(I'm pretty sure now) No color change what so ever. So I think from now on the whites will be called whites at birth till they change into their himi colors. lol

I now have 4 REWs from 3 different parents. So why have I been blessed with these guys? I have been told that they are hard to come by. So how did I get so lucky? Not even sure what I'm going to do with them. All in the last 4 months.

Babies

  • Apr. 3rd, 2009 at 10:47 PM

The last of the Himi babies was born very early this morning. 5 big pups born. 1 DOA. 2 Himis, 2 blacks. So far they look pretty good. These guys are all fat and sassy all ready. Very nice litter, good mommy.

Had another litter born yesterday. This was a small litter. Only 2 pups. one is Himi and one is a red. These guys are doing okay not as big as the other ones.

We lost most of the pups from the moms who had the baytril. Thankfully we didn't lose the moms. That stuff really messed them up. Have 2 left out of 6 pups from moms who had that stuff. And they aren't showable, they will be pets. I don't think I would breed them even if the where showable. I don't know what that stuff really did to them.

Here's the mom and babies that where born this morning.

One tried mom and her big babies. Looks like they are nursing like a cat or dog would. The runt is in the back. I think that at least one of these Himis will be showable. YAY

Hoping to get more pictures this weekend. Notice I said hoping.

EXCUSSES, EXCUSSES

  • Mar. 29th, 2009 at 8:01 PM

I know I said we would get the site update this pasted weekend. But it didn't happen. I've been super sick (not in the head)lol. I've got this sinus thing going on that's not clearing up with antibiotics. This is the second round of them. Been on them for 5 days and no better. Looks like more test for me.
So I've been staying away from the piggies. Am think I'm gonna have to get Suzan and a friend or 2 of hers to do a picture shoot for me. And I'll do the update. Need new picture to update the site. I know quit whining and do it.
Lucy had her babies today. 5 of them. 1 was a doa. The rest are all nice size. All look good for rosette. But I didn't get to close to them. Mom is a self red. Dad is a TSW.  We are now waiting on a VERY HUGE Himi to have her babies. She is bigger than Lucy was. So we are hoping for nice sized pups from her. And for them to all be Abby Himis. But mostly hoping for a safe deliver of the pups and mom. I just hate the waiting game. We thought that the Himi would pop first as she was bigger than Lucy.

Well That's All For Now

BABIES

  • Mar. 18th, 2009 at 8:46 PM

Yay, Himi babies alive. Just born a litter of babies so far looks like 2 himi and 1 black. Hope the rosettes look alot better when they are all cleaned up. But the good thing is that so far all are doing good. Should be able to tell more about the rosettes tomorrow. This makes liter 4 and only 4 live pups as of now. Have 4 litters of Himi Abbys to go. So I'm still hopefully of getting a couple good Himis out of this breeding. Next round I'll do some shaking up so to speak.

I'm also waiting on a litter out of my 2 best TSW Abby's. We have had pretty good luck with them so far. We did lose one of our best sows. But she left us with a few good pups that are now jrs. I put Tulip and Miami into breeding last weekend. She is a satin lilac/orange and he is a lilac/orange/white. So we are really hopeful of this pairing.

On the Teddy front we have 7sow in breeding and yes I know thats a lot. But I didn't want them to get to much older before the were breed.  It's just the way their ages fell. So anyway the next time I breed them they will be more spaced out.. I think that is about all I have right now.

Yes, we do plan on updating our web site soon. Hope to have a little bit of a slow down now. Don't think there are any shows for a couple weeks. Food Fiesta is done. But Goats are getting ready to start for county fair, but Suzan does most of that right after school. Yes she goes to school on a working FARM. One day when I'm not so tried I'll tell you all about her school. I been going (my kids) to this school for about 8 years now. So remind me if I forget to tell you all about it.

Anyway I think that all for tonight

Well that litter # 2 we have lost. this last one had one live and 3 DOA's. The live one isn't showable. Now I just hope the mom makes it. She is one of the ones we had sick awhile back. I think that Baytril that the vet gave her did a # on her litter. She had one pup last night and the rest late today. What's with that? The live one was the one last night. The ones today was smaller than the live one which isn't any bigger than a runt. Go figure. The other litter we lost last week was real small about the size of two grapes put together and she was almost full term maybe 1 1/2 weeks earlier. She had that Baytril to.I'm giving them a bit to recover than I'll bred them again and hope for the best. This is so frustrating cause they are out of our Himi(Abby) program. Wanted to have some nice ones for convention in Nov. At this rate wont have them. Will only have the one we had at the last show.

Okay whine time over. I found a place where they will buy my pet babies from me for $10. Not bad the wholesaler only give $7 . Took some out there today. Hope this works. That's an extra $3 bucks a piece.
